Multiplicity of monochromatic solutions to x+yz
For integers n ≥ 1 and k ≥ 0, let Mk (n) represent the minimum number of monochromatic solutions to x + y < z over all 2-colorings of {k + 1, k + 2, . . . , k + n} . We show that for any k ≥ 0, Mk (n) = Cn3(1 + ok(1)), where C = 1 12(1+22)2 ≈ .005686. A structural result is also proven, which can be used to determine the exact value of Mk(n) for given k and n.
متن کاملMonochromatic Solutions of Exponential Equations
We show that for every 2-coloring of N and every k 2 N, there are infinitely many monochromatic solutions of the system of k2 equations zij = x yj i , 1 i, j k, where x1, . . . , xk, y1, . . . , yk are distinct positive integers greater than 1. We give similar, but somewhat weaker, results for more than two colors. – Dedicated to the memory of Paul Erdős.
متن کاملOn monochromatic solutions of equations in groups
We show that the number of monochromatic solutions of the equation x1 1 x α2 2 · · ·xαr r = g in a 2-coloring of a finite group G, where α1, . . . ,αr are permutations and g ∈ G, depends only on the cardinalities of the chromatic classes but not on their distribution. We give some applications to arithmetic Ramsey statements.
متن کاملPractical Approach to Monochromatic LWFA
Dependence of the LWFA performance upon the laser wavelength is applied to optimization of the plasma-channeled standard LWFA operating in a linear regime. Electron beam energy spread, emittance and luminosity depend upon the proportion of the electron bunch size to the plasma wavelength. This proportion tends to improve with the laser wavelength increase. We propose the two-stage ~1 GeV LWFA w...
متن کاملMonochromatic Sums Equal to Products in N
Csikvári, Gyarmati, and Sárközy asked whether, whenever the set N of positive integers is finitely colored, there must exist monochromatic a, b, c, and d such that a + b = cd and a = b. We provide an affirmative answer, showing that a much stronger statement is true.
